Adding a Child Theme

Installing Child Theme is an essential step if you are going to customize Ken, Either by adding CSS code or overriding PHP files. Having Child Theme guarantees that your changes will not be deleted on each update of the theme and that they will stay intact. Fortunately, the Artbees crew thought about that beforehand and gave you the ability to add Child Theme to Ken with the easy steps described below.

1Unzip Ken Download File.  

Go to your Themeforest account download page, and download the Ken zip file to your local machine. Then unzip it to have a listing of folders like this:


You will see a zip file inside called That is the file which you need to install like any other WordPress theme.

2Install Child Theme.  
  1. Go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes and click on Add New Button.
  2. On the next screen click on the Upload Theme button at the top.
  3. Click on the Browse button and select the file.
  4. Click on the Install Now button.

3Activate Child Theme.  

Click on the Activate link after the uploading process is finished.

4That's it! 

You’re done! Now Child Theme gets all information from the main theme and you can easily add your Custom CSS by going to Appearance ->Editor, and selecting style.css to add your code there.
