Header Settings

Theme Settings is the main section of Ken, from which you can establish global settings for your website.In this article, we will describe the options available under the Header section of Theme Settings.

To access the header settings, from WordPress top bar, go to Theme Settings > Header.


Header Settings

1Header Structure.  

Use this option to decide how the structure of the header of your website appears. Available options are:

  1. Standard
  2. Margin
  3. Vertical
2Header Location.  

Use this option to decide whether the header of your page appears at the top or bottom. Available options:

  1. Top
  2. Bottom
3Vertical Header State.  

Use this option to decide whether the vertical header of your website should be expanded by default, or condenced at first. If you choose to have the header condensed, the header will appear narrow by default, and by clicking on the triple bar icon (known as burger icon), it will be expanded to reveal logo and navigation. Available options:

  1. Expandable
  2. Always Open


4Header Vertical Width? 

Use this option to increase or decrease header width. Default value for this option is 280 pixels.


5Header Padding.  

Use this option to increase or decrease header padding from the top and bottom. Default value for this option is 30 pixels.

6Header Padding.  

Use this option to increase or decrease header padding on the left and right. Default value for this option is 30 pixels.


7Header Align.  

Use this option to decide about the alignment of header. Available options:

  1. Left
  2. Center
  3. Right

8Vertical Header Align.  

Use this option to decide about the alignment of header in vertical mode. Available options:

  1. Left
  2. Center
  3. Right


9Boxed Header.  

Enable this option if you want the header to appear inside the main grid. And disable it if you want the header to take up the full width of the screen.

10Sticky Header.  

This option will make the header section stick at the top of the browser window and allow it to be available when scrolling down the page. You can disable this option if you want to allow the header to disappear while scrolling down.

11Squeeze Sticky Header.  

If you choose for your website to have a sticky header, this option will allow it to be squeezed on sticky mode, or you may want to keep the height of header as normal.

12Show Header Border Top? 

You can decide whether or not to have a border at the top of the header section.

13Header Search Form.  

You can decide whether or not to have a search form appear in the header of your website. If you decide to have one, it will by default sit on the right side of main navigation.

14Header Search Location.  

If you decide to have a search form appear on your header, you can choose where it appears. Available options:

  1. Left
  2. Right

15Header WPML Language Selector.  

If you have a bilingual website using WPML plugin, which is the only way to publish in two languages appearing at the same time in the Ken theme, you can use this option to indicate whether or not you want a language selector to appear in the header.

16Page Title : Pages.  

Use this option to decide whether the title section should be shown.


17Main Navigation for Logged In User.  

Use this option to assign the default menu location for logged-in users, throughout whole site. You have six menu locations to choose from. To add a new menu or set a menu to a location, please go to Appearance -> Menus.

18Header Social Networks.  

Use this option to enable or disable the social media icons. You can also set those icons to appear either in the header toolbar area or in the header itself. Available options:

  1. Header Section
  2. Header Toolbar
  3. Disabled
19Header Toolbar.  

Header toolbar is a short, full-width section which can be added at the very top of the website, above the header area. There you can write helpful information for easy access by your users, such as contact information or website guides. This option allows you to Enable or Disable the toolbar.

20Header Toolbar Phone Number.  

You can add a phone number to header toolbar area.

21Header Toolbar Phone Icon.  

Using this option you can add an icon for the phone number option described in item 20. You will need to add the icon class here. To search and find the proper icon class to use, please go to Tools -> Icons Library.


22Header Toolbar Email Address.  

Use this option to add an Email address to header toolbar area.


23Header Toolbar Email Icon.  

This option allows you to add an icon for the email address option described in item 22. You will need to add the icon class here. To search and find proper icon class to use, please go to Tools -> Icons Library.


24Header Toolbar Custom Menu.  

You can add a menu into the header toolbar section using this option. You will need to select one of six menu locations which you assigned before in Appearance -> Menus. Please use single level menus only, here as submenus are not supported.
