The next step after installing WordPress and checking server requirements, is installing Jupiter WordPress theme. Access to WordPress administration and FTP clients are required for Installing theme and child theme.
In this article, we explain about installing Jupiter theme and its child theme in your website.
Downloading the theme
At first, you need to download Jupiter theme and child theme from ThemeForest website.
To download the theme:
2In the upper right corner, hover over your username and click on Downloads.

3Scroll down to Jupiter and click on Download All files & documentation.

Note: The downloaded zip file contains the theme, child theme, plugins and the documentation.
4Extract the downloaded .zip file into a folder. These files will be needed for the next steps.
Installing the theme
There are few methods to upload and install a theme on your WordPress website. In this section, we explain about two easy-to-follow installation methods.
Installing through WordPress administration
1From WordPress left menu, go to Appearance > Themes.

2Click on Add New Theme.

3Click on Upload Theme button.

4Click on Choose File button and select Jupiter.zip that you have extracted from the ThemeForest downloaded file then click on Install Now button and wait for the install to complete.

5After the theme installed successfully, click on Activate button.

Uploading through FTP client
Alternatively, you can upload the theme through file transfer protocol. Keep in mind that this will only upload the theme to your website, it will not install or activate it.
1Use a FTP client (for example Filezilla) to access your host web server.
2In the files browser navigate to /wp-content/themes.
3Extract Jupiter.zip and Transfer it into the directory.
Note: Jupiter is now uploaded to your WordPress website, from WordPress left menu go to Appearance >Themes and install the Jupiter.
Installing the child theme
If you plan on customizing and editing the theme’s files, it is highly recommended to install a child theme. Having a child theme guarantees that your changes will not be deleted on each update of the theme and they will stay intact.
Note: Before proceeding to the steps below, make sure to have Jupiter-child.zip file from the first section of this article.
To install the child theme:
1From WordPress left menu, go to Appearance > Themes.

2Click on Add New Theme.

3Click on Upload Theme button.

4Click on Browse button and select Jupiter-child.zip file then click on Install Now button and wait for the install to complete.

5After the child theme installed successfully, click on the Activate button.
