Posts Carousel Element

The Posts Carousel element is just like the Posts element, except it is displayed in a carousel. The Posts Carousel element allows you to display posts from Blog or Portfolio post type. It also offers many features like filter by categories, pagination styles, etc. You can change the featured image size, set excerpt length and change “Read More” button text and other settings.

To add a Posts Carousel element to a page:

Add a new page or edit an existing one.

Click on Edit with Elementor button.

From the left dashboard, search for a “Posts Carousel”.

Drag and drop the Posts Carousel element to your page.

A new dashboard on the left will open with the element’s settings. These are explained below.

Content

SettingDescription
SkinSets a pre-designed skin: either Outer Content or Inner Content.
SourceSets the source of the posts: Blog or Portfolio.
Select Specific BlogChoose custom posts to show.
CategoriesChoose the posts from categories.
TagsChoose the posts from tags.

Settings

SettingDescription
ColumnsSet the columns number of the posts. You can choose up to 6 columns.
Image SizeSets image source size between the WordPress Image sizes or define a custom size. More information can be found here. This is different than the Width option in the Style tab for the Featured Image.
Posts Per PageSets the number of posts to show per page.
Sets the html tag for the posts titles: h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, div, p, span.
Hover EffectSets the animation on hover.

You can show/hide the element parts in the settings. Here is the list of things you can show or hide on the Posts Carousel element:

  • Feature Image
  • Post Title
  • Categories
  • Author
  • Date
  • Comments
  • Excerpt
  • CTA Button
  • Pagination
  • Sortable

When you show/hide these options in settings, they will automatically show/hide in the Style tab.

Sort & Filter

SettingDescription
Order BySets the posts order by date, title, menu order, random.
OrderSets the ascending or descending order of the posts.
OffsetSkips over posts (e.g. ‘4’ to skip over 4 posts).
ExcludesExcludes custom posts you set in this setting.

Style

SettingDescription
Column SpacingSets the space between posts columns.
Row SpacingSets the space between posts rows.
PaddingSets paddings around the posts.
AlignmentAligns the posts content on a page.
Background Color TypeSets a background color for posts.
Border TypeSets the border around the posts.
Border WidthSets the width of the border.
Border RadiusSets a custom radius for the border.
ColorSets the border color.
Box ShadowSets the shadow around the posts.

 

There are also general settings for the options that you enabled in the “Content” tab in Settings section:

  • Feature Image

  • Sortable

Responsive Options

You can choose to have different settings on different screen sizes for some of the Posts Carousel element options. Whenever you see this icon, it means that you can choose different screen size and freely change that options for your specific resolution.

At first you’ll see the icon for desktop layout only

But when you click that icon, you’ll get two more layouts: for tablet and phone.
