Widgetized Sidebar Shortcode

Widgetized Sidebar shortcode allows to include a widget area / sidebar inside a page using Visual Composer. This is helpful when building pages which needs different widgets areas.

In this article, we’ll explain about displaying and configuring Widgetized Sidebar shortcode.


Displaying Widgetized Sidebar

To add the shortcode:

1Add a new page or edit an existing page.
2From Visual Composer screen, click + button.

3In Add Element pop-up screen, search for Widgetized Sidebar and click on it to be added to the page.

4When the shortcode is added, a new pop-up screen called Widgetized Sidebar Settings opens. It gives you the ability to configure the shortcode settings.

5From the Sidebar setting, choose one of the widget areas / sidebars.
6Click Save Changes and publish or update the page to check the result.

Adding an Extra Class Name

Extra Class Name field in the setting pop-up allows you to add an extra class name to the shortcode. It’s useful when you need to target the shortcode in a style sheet or JavaScript file.

Adding Widgets to the Sidebar

Each of the widget area / sidebar available in Sidebar setting (step 5 of above section) are a container for widgets. You can add or remove widgets in each one of them from Appearance > Widgets.

Qs: Why isn’t my Widgetized Sidebar Shortcode working?

Qs: I setup a Widgetized Sidebar Sidebar and also added Widgets in Appearance > Widgets still the Widgetized Shortcode is not working?

Ans: Please consider this, If you set a page as your main shop page in WooCommerce Settings, the Widgetized Sidebar will not work on that page.
You should add the content in the Woocommerce Widget Area to show it on your Shop page
