This article provides you with detailed information on how to use Widgets in Jupiter and The Ken themes. WordPress Widgets are small blocks that perform a specific function. You can add these widgets in Custom Sidebars or the Footer areas also known as widget-ready areas on your web page. WordPress widgets were originally created to provide a simple and easy-to-use way of giving design and structure control of the WordPress theme to the user. Artbees themes give different functionalities by default as widgets which you can use on your website.
How to Add Widgets
To add a widget you need to decide where you want to show the information in the front end of the website. Jupiter and The Ken have different widget areas available by default. To see which areas are available to use go to WordPress admin Menu > Appearance > Widgets. Click here for more detailed and technical information about widgets.
The following is the list of the most common widget areas available in Jupiter and The Ken themes:
Use this area to add your widget to all pages in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widget to all single blog post pages in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widget to all single portfolio pages in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widget to all single news pages in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widget to the search result page in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widgets to auto generated archive pages by WordPress for different post types. The preferred approach of Jupiter and The Ken suggests that you add pages and use the post type related shortcodes such as Blog or Portfolio to create the archive pages and avoid the auto generated ones. Use this area to add your widget to the “404 not found” page in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widgets to all WooCommerce pages that have product listing in the Sidebar section. You also need to go to the main shop page that you set in the WooCommerce settings and enable the sidebar from the Layout Option of that page.
Use this area to add your widget to all single product WooCommerce pages in the Sidebar section.
Use this area to add your widget to the footer section of all pages. The information will be added to the first column of the footer section. The footer section may have different a column count which is decided in Theme Options in Jupiter and Theme Settings in The Ken.
Use this area to add your widget to the footer section of all pages. The information will be added to the second column of the footer section.
Use this area to add your widget to the footer section of all pages. The information will be added to the third column of the footer section.
Use this area to add your widget to the footer section of all pages. The information will be added to the fourth column of the footer section.

How to Assign Widgets to Widgets Areas
To assign WordPress default or Jupiter and The Ken specific or third party widgets to one of the widget areas we discussed above, go to the widgets page by following the WordPress Admin Menu > Appearance > Widgets path, then select the widget you want at the left section of the screen and drag it to one of the widget areas available. After you release the widget in the correct position, the specific widget options will be available for you to fine tune the information which will be shown in the front end of the website.
Jupiter Specific Widgets
Jupiter provides specific widgets which you can assign to areas explained above to have more flexibility on the content. The following is the list of Jupiter specific widgets:
Adds a Contact Form to the widget area you assign. This contact form is a simple version of the Contact Form shortcode. You have an option to show/hide Captcha and Phone Number fields.
Adds a Contact Info to the widget area you assign. This contact form is a simple version of the Contact Info shortcode.
Adds a Flickr thumbnail images list with links to the respective page of the images in Flickr. Follow the links given in the widget options to find out how to add the API Key and User ID for the correct functionality of this widget.
Adds a Google Maps section to the widget area you assign. This is a simple version of the Advanced Google Maps shortcode.
Adds the short posts list of the chosen Instagram account. Follow the links given in the widget options to find out how to add the UserId and Access Token for the correct functionality of this widget.
This widget adds a mini slideshow with a maximum of three images to the widget area you assign.

This widget adds a posts list from a specific category you choose from the widget options to the widget area you assign.
This widget adds a list of icons of social network websites with the links to the respective pages you set in the widget options to the widget area you assign
This widget adds a sub navigation to the widget area you assign. You need to add individual page IDs in a comma separated list in the widget options.
This widget adds up to three testimonials to the widget area you assign. You can add the title, quote, company, author image url, author website url and position information using the widget options.
