Updates

The Updates section in the Jupiter Control Panel lets you automatically update the theme in one-click. It also lets you downgrade the theme, which is explained in this article.

Updating the Theme

To update the theme:

1From WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel.

2In the control panel, click on Theme Updates and then Update. Be patient until the update process is done. In some web hosts, it may take several minutes.

Downgrading the Theme

To downgrade the theme:

1From the WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel > Updates.

2Find the version number to which you wish to downgrade the theme and click on the Downgrade button.

3A new notification pop-up window will appear, click on the Agree button.

4Wait for the downgrade process to finish.

Export & Import

The Export & Import section in the Jupiter Control Panel let’s you export and import your selected website data. It is always recommended to have a backup of your website data as things may go wrong in the future. This option is also handy when you want to move your website to another server or domain.

Exporting the Data

To export the data:

1From the WordPres left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel.

2From the Control Panel, click on Export & Import.

3Select which data you wish to export and click on the Export button.

4After the export is done, click on the Download button to download your data as .zip file.

Importing the Data

To import the data:

1From the WordPres left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel.

2From the Control Panel, click on Export & Import.

3Click on the Upload button and select an exported .zip file.

4Click on the Import button and wait for the proccess to be completed.

System Status

The System Status section in the Jupiter Control Panel provides valuable information to help you find out the problems with your installation environment.

After activation of the Jupiter theme, from the WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter> Control Panel > System Status to check the server requirements.

The System Status page consists of different sections:

  • WordPress Environment
  • Theme
  • Browser
  • Server Environment
  • Active Plugins

Each section provides valuable information to help you find out the problems with your installation environment.

If there is a green checkbox in front of the option, it means that the value meets the requirements of the theme. If there is a red exclamation mark then you need to take action to fix the incompatibility.

Icon Library

The Icon Library section in the Jupiter Control Panel provdes a simple overview of the available icons in the Jupiter theme. These icons can be used in various places like shortcodes, header menu, footer, etc.

Adding Custom Icons

Image Sizes

The Image Sizes section in the Jupiter Control Panel let’s you define all your custom image sizes in one place and then use them in different places including shortcodes. It helps you to control all your custom image sizes easily

Defining an Image Size

To define a custom image size:

1From the WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel > Image Sizes page.

2Click on the Add a New Size button.

3Fill out the form with necessary information.

Image width Defines the width of an image.
Image height Defines the height of an image.
Size name Sets a custom name for the image size template.
Hard crop Hard crops the image.
4Click on Save Settings button.

Assigning an Image Size to a Shortcode

As mentioned above, custom image sizes will be available as an option in various shortcodes. Below is an example on how to use your custom image size in the Blog shortcode.

1In the WordPress dashboard, edit a page which contains the blog shortcode.
2Click on the Edit Blog button.

4Select your custom image size and click on the Save changes button.

Required Plugins

The Required Plugins section in the Jupiter Control Panel lets you install plugins and add-ons to use a drag and drop page builder and empower the theme with extra functionalities.

Installing Plugins

As an example, we’ll install the WPBakery Page Builder, a required plugin for Jupiter which comes bundled with the theme.

1From WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel.

2From the control panel left menu, go to Required Plugins.

3Next to WPBakery Page Builder, click on Activate button.

4A new pop-up window will appear, click on Continue button.

5After a couple of seconds, a new pop-up window will appear. Click on Ok button.

6WPBakery Page Builder is now installed and activated on your website. It will be displayed above in Active Plugins section.


Installing Add-ons

Add-ons are exclusive free extensions only for Jupiter theme which bring more functionality and customizations.


Templates

The Templates section in Jupiter Control Panel lets you install or uninstall prebuilt demos for a specific type of a website that can be installed on the Jupiter theme. Each template is created by a group of designers and developers from Artbees exclusively for the Jupiter theme.


Installing a Template

In this example, we’ll install the Poseidon template.

To install the template:

1From the WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel.

3In the search box, type Poseidon and click on the Install button.

4Read the message in the pop-up window, then confirm by clicking on the “Yes, install Poseidon” button.

5Read the message in next pop-up window, then click on either the “Do not Include” or “Include” button.

6Be patient until the installation is complete. It may take several minutes on some web hosts. At this stage, several automatic steps happen:
  • The template will be downloaded from our server.
  • Required plugins will be installed and activated.
  • Post, page contents, navigation, widgets and sliders will be imported.

7After successful installation, click on the OK button and check the front end of your site.

Uninstalling a Template

As explained in the previous section, we installed the Poseidon template successfully. The uninstallation process is also automatic and easy to do.

To uninstall the template:

1From the WordPress left menu, go to Jupiter > Control Panel.

2In the Control Panel menu, click on Templates.

3As you can see, the Poseidon template is marked as installed. To uninstall it click on the Uninstall button.

4Read the message in the pop-up window, then click on the “Yes, uninstall Poseidon” button. Consider that all of the data and settings of your website will be erased.

5Be patient until the installation is complete. It may take several minutes on some web hosts. After successful uninstallation, click on the OK button.

Register Product

The Register Product section in Jupiter Control Panel lets you register the theme in order to install the updates, templates, plugins and add-ons easily and automatically.


Finding the purchase code

You need to have a valid purchase code to be able to get an API key for theme registration.

To find the purchase code:

1Go to ThemeForest and log in to your account.
2In the upper right corner, hover over your username and click on Downloads.

3Scroll down to Jupiter, click on Download button, and then click on the “License certificate & purchase code (text)” link.

4In the text file, take note of the Item Purchase Code. It is similar to rt76ed7sd-0000-1234-9655-111111111111

Getting an API key

After finding the purchase code, you need to create an account on the Artbees website to get an API key for theme registration.

To get an API key:

1On the Artbees website, sign up for an account. If you already have an account, log in and continue to the next step.
2After signing up, hover over your profile image in the upper right corner and click on the Dashboard link.
3Take note of the Artbees API Key.

Registering the theme

After getting an API key from the Artbees website, it is time to register Jupiter from the WordPress admin panel.

To register Jupiter:

1Log in to your WordPress website admin panel and from the left menu go to Jupiter > Control Panel > Register Product.
2Copy and paste the API key you got in the previous section into the API field and click on the Register button. After successful registration, you should be able to see the thank you message.
