#48718 Cannot upate: WPBakery Visual Composer (Artbees Modified Version)
Locksmithplusinc 7 months ago
Hello, My WPBakery Visual Composer (Artbees Modified Version) is stuck on version 4.11.3, and I cannot seem to update it at all. I have tried to do so several times. I am using a Jupiter Child theme, and I think the issue is the parent theme (According to system status on the Jupiter Theme control panel) is only 5.0.12, and I think it might need to be 5.7?
I used https://themes.artbees.net/docs/update-wpbakery-page-builder/ to try to help me, but my Jupiter Theme control panel has no place to update visual composer.Nodari Support Team 7 months ago
Sorry about that, try this method, deactivate and then delete the plugin, after this, install it from the Appearance > install plugins, the latest version will be installed 🙂
But if for some reason you still can’t resolve it, please provide us with wp-admin login details to your site in the private reply https://prnt.sc/qr3w3e and steps to reproduce your problem.

Ok, I was able to log in and I have some information for you,
First of all, the reason you can’t update to the latest version of Wpbackery is an old version of the theme, you are using an outdated version of the theme and its very important to update the theme first and then plugins, without theme update you cant update the plugins because these plugins are compatible versions to the current version of the theme if you update only plugins and not the theme this might not work, so, first of all, please update the theme and then you will be able to update the pluginLocksmithplusinc 7 months ago
Yes, like I said, I thought this was the issue, but it will not let me update the theme the wordpress dashboard. As I also stated, I am using a Child theme but am not a web developer so do not want to ruin my site. Can you please tell me the specific procedure to do what you stated is necessary? As, tell me the exact place to update the theme. By the way, I have no issue updating Jupiter on sites that do not use Child Theme. This SPECIFIC setup is what I am having an issue with.

The automatic update won’t work since your current version is older, I suggest you try updating with one of these two methods:
via WordPress dashboard
via an FTP client.
Both are described here: https://themes.artbees.net/docs/updating-theme-child-theme/
Please take full site backup before updating.
You can download the v6.4.1 zip here https://themes.artbees.net/dashboard/releases
Looking forward to your response 🙂Cristina 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I’m having a similar issue. I have upgraded to Jupiter version 6.4.1 (the latest theme) but when I go to activate WPBakery Page Builder (version 6.0.5), it fully crashes the site with a “There has been a critical error on your website” and puts it into Recovery Mode. I can’t get past this, so my site is currently down. PLEASE help!!PrivateCristina 6 months, 3 weeks agoThis reply has been marked as private.Nodari Support Team 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Looks like your website is not available at this moment? it’s under maintenance mode last 10-15 min https://prnt.sc/raobgeCristina 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I don’t think I can get it out of Maintenance Mode to the public.
Are you able to login with my credentials?
I’ll try activating Twenty Seventeen just to get it so you can login?Cristina 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I have it out of Maintenance Mode (by using the Twenty Seventeen theme) so you can at least login. Once you activate the Jupiter theme, and activate the latest installed plugins, the error should occur for you. I’ll wait right here on standby!!Nodari Support Team 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Ok, I was able to login now, previously there was only maintenance screen like I posted. Cristina, there is a still problem here when I activate Jupiter theme, https://prnt.sc/raoze3
Please check your email, and give me a screenshot of the message here privately, also please provide FTP details and I will investigate your problem right nowCristina 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Looks like you got booted out? Just going in Recovery Mode to try and get you back in.
You’re getting the same screen as I was.
