Hello, im using the “post navigation” widget on my post to show “previous” and “next” buttons. Is there a way to only display a particular set of posts? Perhaps only a category?

My site posts different stories and each chapter is it’s own post. So I want to use the buttons to navigation to next and previous chapters but ONLY FOR THAT story. So I have a story that’s 10 chapters. On chapter 10, I want to only show a previous button to chapter 9 without going to chapter 1 of the next story. Is this possible? Only working with a particular category/story or only have one nav button for first and and last chapters?

In my screenshot example, this is the first chapter of the story. The button on the right goes to chapter 2 and the button on the left goes to a totally different post (though technically is the previous post…that’s not a part of this story).

    Hello,

What widget are you using to display the posts?

Please provide WP Dashboard credentials in the private reply to check the settings and share the page URL where the pagination is visible.

    Thank you.

    Regards.

    Hi there

Sorry about this but this element does not have such an option to filter posts by category, as an alternative you may nicely designed links (you can also use images 😉 ) in the posts to the next and previous posts of your stories

    Hope this helps

I see. Thank you. Is there a way to position them on opposite corners of the page?

Yes, this is the guide that you need:

By the way, you might be able to find the post navigation widget as you desired in third party plugins. Elementor Pro offers such widget:

    https://elementor.com/help/post-navigation-widget/

    And third party plugins:

    Hope it helps 🙂
