I removed the favicon from the Site Identity section of Customizer and inserted a link to a new favicon into the head of the theme. It works fine when I’m logged in, but when I visit the site in an incognito browser or from say, gtmetrix, it still uses the old favicon. Anybody but me (when logged in) gets the old image. I’ve flushed every cache I can think of and my hosting service says that its theme/plugin related. Can you tell me why Jupiter X is using old html? How do I fix?

Unfortunately, I cant check your problem because the link to your website is not attached to your ticket,
Favicon is the Default function from WordPress, our theme or any other theme are not plays any role in the setting of the favicon, so, the option in Appearance >customize is coming from the WordPress, not from the theme. May i ask why you changed theme file to change the favicon? it can be done from the customizer
Please also include a link to your website Nicholas

Wrong. The issue is in Customizer. If you do not understand the question being asked, can you please pass the ticket to a more experienced rep?
nicholas pederson 3 years, 8 months agoAnd you accessed my site 1:08AM PST this morning, so why would you say you need my web address?
Tatyana Hutsol 3 years, 8 months agoHello,
As I see you updated the Core and Raven plugins to the latest versions, but not the theme.
Their versions are compatible with Jupiter X 1.14.0 version, so please update the theme as well via Jupiter X > Control Panel > Updates. Then check the favicon after that.
If the problem still persists, please provide FTP credentials in the private reply.
Thank you.
nicholas pederson 3 years, 8 months agoIt correct just started showing up 4 days later.. So, while the issue is technically fixed, why would it take 4 days to update the favicon? My other ticket had a similar issue that miraculously resolved itself at the same time, so clearly there is an issue somewhere in the theme. Is this something you guys are aware of? And will this happen everytime I change an image? If so, how do I solve? ..besides waiting 4 days.
Tatyana Hutsol 3 years, 8 months agoHello,
As the favicon is the default function of WordPress, it’s not related to the theme, but may be related to the cache.
Are you using any cache on the server? You can ask your hosting provider support about it, and if so, ask them to deactivate it for your account. After that try to make changes on the site.
Thank you.
nicholas pederson 3 years, 8 months agonow the favicon is pointing to brooklynblackpipe.com/wp-content/themes/jupiterx/lib/favicon.ico ..what is going on here? there is a link in the header clearly telling where the favicon is located. but sometime in the last few days the theme is getting the default jupiterx fav.. please advise. its not a cache or host issue.
Tatyana Hutsol 3 years, 8 months agoHello,
I checked the site in Incognito mode and I didn’t see the default X favicon https://take.ms/EPohy . Can you show screenshots from your side?
Thank you.
Regards.
