    Background:

    Hi, we had issues late Spring when we installed Woocommerce and could not upgrade to Ken 4.2.1 since the resulting web site was really a mess. Danish from the Support team confirmed that<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>Child theme was not supported Ken 4.2.1 and that could explain the problems.

    So in our production site (http://www.provancher.org) we are still a version Ken 4.0 with WordPress 5.4 and WP Bakery modified version 5.5.4.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>Everything works fine there.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>See our discussion in the support forum<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>#57873 Woocommerce conflict vs The Ken 4.

    Current:

    But now we want to upgrade our web site to current WP, The Ken 4.3.1 and various plugins. So we did it first on a Dev site<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>(dev.provancher.org) which is a perfect clone of our prod site. And we are experiencing big issues.

    What we did upgrade in dev.provancher.org:

    1. WordPress<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>to 5.5.1 : experiencing issues
    2. The Ken to 4.3.0 stable (We did NOT activate any Child yet): still experiencing issues
    3. We installed and activated: Ken Core plugin 1.0 : still experiencing issues
    4. We installed and activated WpBakery<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>(modified) 6.1. : still experiencing issues
    5. We cleared the Theme Cache and browser cache. :still experiencing issues

    After each of these updates, the landing page does not show the Edgeslider and the menus loose their color when we navigate. <span class=”Apple-converted-space”>  </span>Theme is not working properly anywhere and the site.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”> </span>

    Later, we updated Woocommerce and some other plugins but no change at all.

    So we are puzzled.

    Can you help? Credential are provided in the Website Access Credentials

    Hello There,

    Since WP version 5.5, WordPress has removed support for <b data-stringify-type=”bold”>jQuery migrate</b> and I suspect the issue is related to that. To address this issue, WordPress has released a plugin, please install this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/ and see if this helps?

    Hi Amir,

    I installed the plugin Enable-jquery-migrate and we made a step forward:  Pages are now appearing correctly.  But not the menu.  However, when I clear Theme cache, the menu appears correctly. But the problem comes back and I have to clear the theme cache every time I go to a new page… We can check on dev.provancher.org (you have the credentials for it). For comparison, go to our live Prod site. http://www.provancher.org. Just look a the menus.

    Hi Amir,

    More info: When I go to the menu page, I get this warning from the plugin Enable JQuery migrate helper:

    1. https://dev.provancher.org/wp-content/themes/ken/framework/assets/js/mk-menus-scripts.js:67:30: jQuery.fn.attr(‘checked’) might use property instead of attribute

    A bug in the theme code for menus?

    I hope this can help you to solve this issue.

    Sorry for a delay.

    I saw that you have redirect to https in the .htaccess file, but your dev site uses the URL with http.

    So I changed the links to https in Settings > General and the menu is working fine now https://take.ms/DAwZB .

    Clear your browser cache and check.

    Hi again,

    Sorry to come back to you again with this issue:

    So, everything works fine with The KEN 4.3.0 now. Thanks!

    But when I activated my The Ken Child theme, the site does not work anymore (in fact it look as initially after upgrading). I don’t even see the Clear cache menu.   And when I get back to The Ken 4.3.0, it functions again.

    The reason we use a Child theme is just for French translation of about 40 chains for end users only.   How can we fix this issue? Or Is there any other way than a child theme to use a fr_FR.po file instead of the US one? What would be the best configuration for Loco translate to achieve this goal and not have to retranslate every time we upgrade the theme.  I am not sure the Doc in the Support section of your site  about this is up-to-date.

    Credentials are still valid for you.

    Hi Tatyana,

    1. About the Wp_remote_get() warning:  My provider checked and confirm that everything is normal with cUrl on the server.

    And when I checked the system with Woocommerce (Woocommerce/état), it indicates that Remote get is ok. See attach screenshot.

    So, not ok with The Ken report but ok with Woocommerce report. What do you suggest? Increase timeout to 15000ms? Other? Is this a critical warning?

    2. Any news from your dev team for child theme support?
