  • Why Smooth Scroll is Enabled by Default

Smooth Scroll is a script written by our development team to make the scrolling experience much better and more performant. Meanwhile the script is used to have a smooth and performant Parallax effect. That is why the Smooth Scroll option is enabled by default. If you disable this option the Parallax and, in some cases, Fixed Background effect will not work. Also, if the smooth scroll is disabled, the anchor scrolling will not work. To access the Smooth Scroll option you can go to Theme Options > Global Settings > Site Settings > Smooth Scroll.

  • What are the benefits of registration?

By registering your theme you will be able to Install Templates for your theme. There are many templates for both Jupiter and Ken which will act as a boilerplate to get started with our themes and start creating your website as soon as possible. We introduce new templates every once in a while. Also, we plan to have new features in upcoming releases called add-ons which will give you tools beyond normal theme scale. These features will be available only if you register your theme:

    • Getting the theme updates.

The Licence key will be activated once you enter it in the Product Registration section in your WordPress backend.

    Common issues

Registration failed because of a cURL issue.

Please make sure the cURL extension is installed and activated on your web server. It can be checked through Jupiter > Control Panel > System Status or by contacting your web host support.

  • How can I revoke my API Key?

You need to go to artbees.net dashboard, Register Product section and find the API Key you want to revoke. You simply need to click on delete button of that API Key row to revoke it. You also need to go to your website dashboard Main Menu > Register Product and remove the API Key from there.

  • When should I revoke my API Key?

The registration process using the API key is for each installation and not domain (although you can install unlimited number of Jupiter installation within a domain). So you may want to change your domain or move your website to another place. The API key for the original installation will be removed.

  • How to Troubleshoot a Theme Issue

If you encounter a problem with our themes it is important to troubleshoot the cause. It could be caused by your environment, a possible third party plugin conflict, you are using an old version of the theme or Visual Composer, your server does not meet with requirements or it may be a bug in our code.To troubleshoot a theme issue, you need to follow the steps below:

    1
Make Sure You Use the Latest Version.

Make sure that you use the latest version of the theme and Visual Composer plugin. Read this article for Jupiter, this article for The Ken and this article for Visual Composer to get more detailed information.

    2
    Check the Child Theme.

If you are using a Child Theme and if you have overridden the PHP files, make sure that the PHP file which you copied from the parent theme is updated and using the latest version. In some cases you override a PHP file in the child theme and then you update the parent theme and on that update the original PHP file is changed. That will make your version of the file in your child theme outdated and may cause problems. In such cases you need to copy the new PHP file from your parent theme to your child theme and do your customization again. For more information about child themes click here for Jupiter and here for The Ken. Also it is good to check the latest changes in version 5 of the Jupiter theme regarding the Child Themes.

    3
Check for the Third Party Plugin Conflicts.

In some cases your additional third party plugins which you installed may conflict with our themes and cause problems. To make sure that it is not the case go to WordPress Admin Menu > Plugins and select all the plugins except Visual Composer and Deactivate them. If the problem goes away, try to activate the plugins one by one to find which one is causing the problem. Open up a support ticket and inform us about the conflict.

    x
Note: We do not guarantee immediate patches for third party plugins but we will do our best to make our theme compatible with popular third party plugin.
    4
Check Your Custom CSS and JS code.

Go to Theme Options > Advanced > Custom CSS/Custom JS in Jupiter and Theme Settings > Skin > Custom CSS/Custom JS in The Ken and delete any code that you may have added there. Then test the website and see if the problem goes away. This will allow you to rule out a possible problem caused by the custom code you added there.

    5
    Change the Theme.

Go to WordPress > Appearance > Themes and change Jupiter or The Ken to other theme such as the WordPress default Twenty Sixteen theme. If the problem is still there then it is not related to our theme and you need to seek support from WordPress Support Website.

    6
Make Sure Your Server Meets the Requirements.

Read this article to understand how you can find your server details and compare them with Jupiter and The Ken server requirements. If your server does not meet with the prerequisites you either need to contact your hosting service provider and ask them to make the necessary changes to fix the issue or choose another hosting service provider which will meet the requirements.

    7
Make Sure You Have File Permissions.

To use our themes you need to have write permission for all your WordPress files and folders on your server. For more information read this article.

    8
    Clear the Cache.

Make sure that you clear your browser, Theme, WordPress and Server cache. For more information read this article.

    9
    Template Errors.

If you have problems installing Jupiter or The Ken specific Templates (Demo Content), read this article for a detailed troubleshooting guide.

    10

  • Why Captcha is not Showing?

Captcha is the functionality available in Jupiter theme to prevent submitting forms by non-human factors such as robot scripts. An example of the case can be seen in the Quick Contact Form at the bottom right section of the screen for the theme.

    Captcha

After the release of Jupiter version 5.1 Artbees team decided to exclude that functionality from the theme to make it less heavy and add it as an extra plugin. If you want to have the captcha functionality, make sure that you install and enable the Artbees Themes Captcha plugin by going to WordPress Admin Menu > Appearance > Install Plugins.

If you do not install it you will have a warning message in places that you can set captcha. For example you will get the message below if you access Theme Options > General > Quick Contact Form > Enable Captcha option:

    Captcha 2
